You can work in two main fields:

1. Crop Farming (Arable Agriculture)

• Planting, growing, and harvesting crops

• Sorting, packaging, and shipping

• Managing and supervising farm operations

2. Livestock Farming

• Feeding and caring for animals

• Cleaning and managing barns or facilities

• Recording and managing daily operations

✅ Who Can Apply

You may qualify if you have:

• At least 2 years of experience supervising other workers on farms, or

• At least 3 years of experience working in crop or livestock farming

📝 How to Register for the SSW Test

Step 1. Check Your Eligibility

Before applying, your experience must be checked by the National Chamber of Agriculture.

You’ll need to submit two forms:

• Work Experience Certificate (Form 1)

• Pledge Form (Form 2)

The review usually takes around one week. You may get a call or email to confirm some details.

Step 2. Get Your Application Number

If your documents are approved, you’ll receive an application number.

Use that number to make a reservation for the SSW Agriculture Test online.

🧠 About the Test

Test Format:

• Written Test + Practical Test

• Time: 60 minutes

• Around 50 questions

Difficulty:

Roughly 30% of experienced applicants (7+ years in Japan) pass — so study well, but don’t panic.

If you apply for Crop Farming:

• How to grow and manage crops

• Farm machinery and equipment

• Pest and disease control

• Safety and hygiene

If you apply for Livestock Farming:

• Animal care and feeding

• Breeding and health management

• Facility cleaning and safety

The practical part uses pictures or diagrams — no need to write long answers!
