・Job Description

Painting classification: Engaged in painting work while directing, ordering, and managing multiple workers.(Equivalent work for other categories) 


・Requirements

At least 2 years of work experience as a supervisor who directs, orders, and manages multiple workers in the shipbuilding and marine industries.At least 2 years of experience as a supervisor in shipbuilding/marine industry


・Skill level

The level of the skill test shall test the ability to perform welding properly in all directions from the viewpoint of confirming that the skill level required for the SSW (Specified Skilled Worker-Tokuteigino) No. 2 is equivalent to or higher than that of foreign nationals with the current status of residence in the professional/technical field.


・Examination subjects

The examination shall consist of a health and safety verification test and a welding operation test, and shall test the applicant's ability to perform welding in all directions in the shipbuilding and marine industries.

The examination shall not be conducted because the applicant's skills to perform welding in all directions in the shipbuilding and marine industries can be measured by the health and safety examination and the welding operation examination.

Therefore, no departmental examination shall be conducted.


Classification of work: Welding

Practical skill test

(1) Health and Safety Verification Examination

The examination consists of 30 questions of 60 minutes in length, using the true-false method (X or O). A minimum of 60% of the questions must be answered correctly.

(2) Welding operation test

The examination consists of two parts: i) manual or semi-automatic welding and ii) TIG welding.

The following criteria are used for pass/fail: (1) Appearance test

 (1) Appearance test

  No harmful cracks, pits, undercuts, or other defects shall be found.

 (2) Bend test or Radiation test

  There shall be no harmful cracks, fusion defects, welding defects, or other defects.
